Shaping the future for humans, animals and the planet
Sustainability at Landguth
Day in, day out we strive to create species-appropriate, high-quality pet food for dogs and cats – and we take responsibility in terms of sustainability, too. This enables us to pick up on current trends when producing pet food and, above all, do our bit to protect the environment, as well.
Sustainability and protecting the planet
Thinking innovatively
The use of resources is an increasingly hot topic when it comes to manufacturing healthy, high-quality foodstuffs. To align with this trend, we use innovative approaches to develop alternative, sustainable pet food. Ongoing research sees us strive to keep improving the quality and sustainability of our products. This innovative attitude enables us to develop healthy, high-quality products that not only meet animals’ needs but also play a role in reducing our environmental footprint. Our focus is on meat-reduced products supplemented by plant-based ingredients or other sources of protein. By opting for alternative pet food, we are not just helping to reduce the impact on the environment, but also offering our customers innovative solutions for a healthy, balanced diet for their pets.
Research at Landguth
Sustainable and high-quality
Our product developers have been exploring sustainable pet food for several years now. We conduct research to ensure nutritionally balanced recipes are perfectly aligned with a great taste experience – while having a positive impact on the environment. To date, our development efforts have been supported by the Federal Ministry of Research.
The BSFZ accreditation
The evidence of our expertise
The BSFZ accreditation stands for innovation via in-house research, We received the BSFZ accreditation as part of the ‘Development and research of meat-free wet food for dogs’ project. It is awarded by the Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage (BSFZ) and is exclusively given to companies conducting research and development. For us, it is outstanding evidence of our internal innovation and is a testament to our research.
Our green team
Doing even more for sustainability
Quality and content play a key role when developing and manufacturing pet food. However, production processes and the associated use of resources are increasingly taking center stage. To live up to this aspiration and guarantee truly sustainable dog and cat food, Landguth has put together a sustainability team: our Landguth green team. The team is fully focused on developing sustainable products. They include aspects like sustainable packaging solutions, carbon-neutral procurement pathways and effective energy recovery.
More for the environment
Green electricity
We do our bit to help protect the environment by opting for green energy. Using Naturwatt pro electricity sees us choose an eco-friendly source of energy that provides our factory with clean, renewable power. Naturwatt pro is certified by TÜV NORD and fully generated from renewables. Its production reduces the generation of radioactive waste and is also carbon-neutral, including the upstream value chain, and contributes to the expansion of renewable energy.
What we care about
Our commitment to society
We’re actively committed to the wellbeing of dogs and cats in need and donate food to animal protection organizations. We also assist local animal shelters with their provisions. Landguth regularly organizes international donation trips with local haulage companies and works with animal protection organizations to help animals in need around the world. In addition, we support regional associations and are involved in sports sponsorship: it is important to us to strengthen the community and bear social responsibility as a company. In turn, we want to create a better future for humans and animals alike.
ISO 50001
Energy-saving
ISO 50001 certification is awarded to organizations that use an energy management system to improve their energy efficiency in a structured way. The goal is to use this system to monitor, measure, manage and continually improve energy consumption. In turn, this means that energy targets can be set in a better way, measures implemented, progress monitored and achievements appraised in a controlled fashion. All told, the international norm for energy management systems is intended to reduce the environmental impact associated with energy usage. The norm was developed by the International Organization for Standardization. We derive great benefit from the ISO 50001 certification, as this project sees us save energy, cut costs and reduce greenhouse gases sustainably – while always keeping a watchful eye on compliance. We owe this to the natural world.
